These foods help with any hair type, length or colours – they are also packed with natural properties that help you beyond your hair.


Not only is chicken packed full of protein, great for when you’re working out and promoting lean muscle mass, but it helps prevent split ends. By eating two portions a day, ideally one at breakfast, you will kick start your amino acids early and help the building blocks for protein take place. Red Peppers

These scarlet beauties are FULL of vitamin C, they have twice the amount of vitamin C of two small oranges. These help your body fight infection and absorb iron easily. You can get the same effect from Broccoli and Kale – or combine all three and your body and hair will love you.


If you didn’t know already, the darker your fruit selection the more antioxidant properties they have. Cherries help promote softness. But you don’t have to stick to just these, try Blueberries, Blackberries and Pomegranates for a bigger selection.


As with Cherries, these will help with the softness of your hair. But more importantly Blueberries are a super food, so you should  be trying to consume a small handful of these a day. Small but mighty, they are packed full of antioxidants and Vitamin C.


Eating foods containing Omega-3 help with the shine of your hair. You should be eating Omega-3 rich foods at least twice a week. You can get this essential oil from Fish and nuts.

Dried Fruit

These will contain a wonderful mix of essential vitamins and minerals your hair AND body need. The selection is huge. We love dried Cranberries, Apricots, Pineapple and Banana.

Red Meat

Red meat, we love our steaks, is essential for many reasons. It contains your daily dose of iron and if lean and grilled doesn’t contain much sat fats. This will help the overall look and feel of your hair and if you need any excuse to eat steak, this is it.

The above foods should be involved in your diet in one way or another. Some of the team prefer fruit smoothies than eating a bunch of fruit and others like packing all meals full of super foods with brown carbs and not white carbs. These foods also help promote energy levels, lean muscle mass and generally make you feel a whole lot better to get through your day.

Not only will eating good food taste great, it will make you look and feel amazing too. So stop off at the shops on the way home and start picking this goodies up. Usually they start from around 40p so you really do have no excuses.

For the vegetarians out there, we have not forgotten you. All of the veggies you can eat, as we’re sure you already are, just replace the Chicken with green veg – the darker the better. And replace red meat with Tomatoes, Spinach, Coconut, or Olives.
